Video Connections
The Prowler 8x8 can switch 8 component inputs labeled
, and 3 composite to component convert-
ers
to 8 CAT5/6/7 outputs
effectively making it an 11x8 video matrix switch.
The switched video is also mirror to 8 component video local outputs
, component outputs 1-8 mir-
ror the video on CAT5/6/7 outputs 1-8.
Each component path is rated at 450MHz, and is DC coupled on the inputs and outputs.
Each CAT5/6/7 path is rated at 150MHz, and is DC coupled on the inputs and outputs.
The composite inputs are fed to composite to component converters that transcode composite (or s-
video) to 480i component video.
Converter ‘A’ can set to accept composite video on its input 1, or input 2, or s-video by using a s-video
to RCA splitter cable. The ‘Y’ cable of the splitter is connected to the ‘1’ input of a converter, and the
‘C’ cable of the splitter is connected to the ‘2’ input.
Converters ‘C’ and ‘E’ accept composite video only.
