Adding and Hot Swapping Power
Supplies
Overview
Removing and replacing power supplies is designed to be quick and easy on this
system, so the instructions are brief. However if your system originally only had
one supply and you are adding the second one, there are a couple of setting
changes. After adding a second power supply, you will need to make the system
aware of the second power supply so that it will include any faults from the new
power supply. See the section titled ―System Setup Menu‖ to change the PS A/B
options to ―Both‖.
When hot swapping the power supplies, the system will indicate faults while a
power supply is not present. This is normal, and can be cleared after the power
supply is inserted and powered up.
