does come from fire, cannot be
differentiated from other fires
by a smoke detector.
In all rooms, there are certain points that must be
noted when mounting a smoke alarm.
Site Description
Ceilingmount Mount the smoke alarm on the
ceiling in a central position.
IMPORTANT: Areas in which
there is no air circulation
should be avoided, e.g. in the
vicinity of window sills, cur-
tains, furniture, etc. A minimum
distance of 30 cm should be
maintained. The smoke alarm
should be mounted at least
30 cm from walls and corners.
These hinder smoke movement
and in the case of fire, the
alarm only sounds when the
smoke concentration is very
high.
Mounting near ceiling lamps
(e.g. halogen systems, fluores-
cent lamps) especially those
