Roll Over Protection System
(ROPS)
• The ROPS system consists of two roll bars
located behind the rear seat head restraints
and a sensor which monitors the roll or
pitch angle of the car. If the pitch angle
exceeds approximately 72 degrees or the
roll angle exceeds approximately 38
degrees, the sensor automatically deploys
(raises) the roll bars.
• If the ROPS system has been deployed, an
authorized Volvo retailer should inspect the
system and make any necessary repairs/
adjustments.
Roll Over Protection System (ROPS)
• No objects should be placed over the roll
bars behind the rear seat head restraints.
• No one should be allowed to sit on the
cover over the convertible top storage
compartment.
Seats belts for all seating positions are
equipped with seat belt tensioners.
WARNING!
• The rear seat of the Volvo C70 is intended
for two occupants only. Only two three-
point seat belts are provided. The center
position should never be used to seat a
passenger.
• You should never perform any
maintenance or in any way attempt to
repair/adjust the ROPS system yourself.
