Output

The height gage comes with an output port that allows data transmission to Starrett No. 772 Data

Collection Systems, No. 761 Multiplexer or to other devices that support Starrett RS232 format.

Cable No. PT62103 is needed to interface with the above Starrett devices.

Output is initiated via the button on the output cable or by transmitting an ASCII character to the

gage.

The output format is 4800 BAUD, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, ASCII data. Transmission is

exactly 16 characters, followed by a carriage return and line feed.

Low Battery Indication

The display will show a dim reading when the batteries are getting weak. Replace with two new

batteries, CR2450 (No. PT61120).

Care and Maintenance

1.

Do not store this instrument in areas of extreme temperature - below 10°F(-12°C) or above

130°F(54°C).

2.

For best results, operate the height gage in an area free from dust and sprays of cutting oils

and other coolants.

3.

This is a precision instrument and extreme care should be taken to avoid bumping or drop-

ping the gage.

4.

The height gage has been calibrated at 68°F(20°C) (see specifications). Avoid using the

gage in direct sunlight or in a draft of hot or cold air. For best results, use in a constant temp

perature situation and allow time for the gage to soak at temperature for at least one hour

when transferring the tool from a temperature difference of more that 10°F(-12°C).

5.

Clean the height gage vertical bar using a clean, lint-free cloth. Apply a very light coat of

lubricant. Use one or two drops of instrument oil on a finger and wipe over the vertical bar.

Move slide up and down and wipe off the excess oil.
