Optimizing CPU Usage
Tremolator is a native plug-in, which means that it uses your computer’s processor to
do its audio processing. Because of its advanced DSP algorithms, Tremolator can put
a pretty heavy load on your processor. Here are some tips to reduce the processing:
Set the Digital/Analog switch in the Input section to “Digital”. This will save a bunch
of CPU cycles as the Analog setting uses a lot more horsepower.
• If you’re running multiple tracks through the same effect, use Tremolator on an
aux track and use sends to route the audio through Tremolator.
• Commit your effect to disk by using AudioSuite, or, by bouncing to disk

IMPORTANT: Digidesign has a special low-latency version of the ‘Stream Manager’
driver for Pro Tools. This can reduce the latency from 1024 audio samples to 256
audio samples (from 21 milliseconds to 5 milliseconds at 48 kHz sample rate!) For
the latest and greatest info on optimizing HTDM for your system and to download
the low latency Stream Manager, please visit the HTDM Q&A page on the Digidesign
website. The link to it is:
