TO REMOVE BUTTSTOCK:
Before making any buttstock changes, move the safety button fully rearward
to the “ON” (SAFE) position and visually and physically check the chamber,
elevator, and magazine tube to be certain the shotgun is unloaded. Also, be
sure to keep the action open and the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Refer to your firearm’s owner’s manual for additional safety and functional
information.
a) Remove the Mathews Harmonic Damper from the stock by pressing on its center
from one side to the other through the rubber inserts (Fig. 1).

b) Remove the rubber inserts by compressing one edge towards the center hole as
shown (Fig. 2).

c) Continue pressing while working around the edge of the hole in the buttstock.
Pry the rubber inserts out when a gap is visible through the stock (Fig. 3).
Repeat for the other side.
