Solutions to Common Problems

The unit does not

power up.

The battery pack is

discharged.

Charge the battery pack.

Replace the battery pack with a

fully charged one.

Connect the FTB-100/FTB-100B to

an external power supply using the

AC/DC adapter/charger.

The FTB-100/FTB-100B

is not connected to an

external power supply.

Connect the FTB-100/FTB-100B to

an external power supply using the

AC/DC adapter/charger.

The external power

supply is unplugged.

Make sure the external power

supply is plugged in at both ends.

Unit screen

The FTB-100/FTB-100B

backlight is off.

Press the Backlight button.

External keyboard is

not working.

External keyboard has

not been detected.

Unplug the keyboard and then plug

it again.

Turn off the FTB-100/FTB-100B,

plug in the keyboard, and turn on

the FTB-100/FTB-100B.

Screen characters are

dim.

The Contrast and/or
Brightness

are not set properly.

Adjust the Contrast and Brightness

controls.

The battery indicator

remains low after a full
charge.

The battery is not

properly calibrated.

Perform a complete battery

recalibration, i.e. a full discharge,
immediately followed by a full

charge.

recalibrated frequently.

The 9 V battery is too

Replace the 9 V battery.
