12. First torque all oil pump screws to 40-45 in-lbs. then final torque to
90-120 in-lbs.
13. If reinstalling chain drive gears follow installation instructions per
service manual.
14. If installing gear drive follow manufacturers instructions for assembly
procedure.
15. Once cam drive system is complete and timing marks have been
verified install new cam cover gasket and cam cover.
16. Check all screws and corresponding holes make sure all are clean and
free of old thread sealer or any other debris.
17. Use Blue thread locker on cam cover screws and torque in sequence
per service manual to 90-120 in-lbs.
18. Install pushrods and rocker assemblies per service manual.
High Lift Cams .560” and Higher
Delkron recommends using their Billet Rocker Supports with .030” offset rocker
shaft centerlines Part # D3070. These supports are made of 6061T6 billet aluminum
and are stronger than the cast OE part. They reduce flexing and with the .030” offset
will center the rocker tip over the valve tip when using high lift cams and vales with
longer stems. This will improve rocker and valve tip wear and greatly reduce valve
train noise in your high performance Twin Cam.
NOTE: Rocker arm endplay service limit is .025” replace rocker arm and support if
endplay is or exceeds .025”. This will reduce top end noise and the possibility of the
OE cast support breaking.
