Before turning the ignition off
Be sure to eject any cassette from the unit before
turning the ignition off.
Switching modes
When the unit is in Radio or CD Changer Play
mode, inserting a cassette switches the unit to
Tape Play mode automatically.
To prevent tape problems
Before inserting a cassette into the unit, make
sure that there is no slack in the tape. If necessary,
take up the slack by inserting a pencil into the
spindle hole and winding.
Tapes of 90 minutes or longer are extremely thin
and easily deformed or damaged. They are not
recommended.
• At the end of the tape in Fast Forward mode, the
other side of the cassette will start playing
automatically.
• Atthe end of the tape in Rewind mode, the same
side will start playing automatically.

Displayed when the upper side of the
cassette is being played.
Displayed when the lower side of the
cassette is being played.
Tape transport display
When you start tape playback, the transport
display indicates the tape movement.
Upper side: During playback.

During fast-forwarding or rewinding, the transport
display accelerlates.
To play tapes recorded with Dolby B NR
Press □□ (the Dolby NR button) when playing a
tape recorded in this mode. The B” indicator
lights up.
Press this button again to cancel this mode.
Note
If a tape recorded without Dolby B NR is played
back in Dolby B NR mode, the sound will not be
reproduced properly.
To play metal tapes
Press MTL (metal) when playing a metal or Cr02
tape. The “MTL” indicator lights up.
Press this button again to cancel this mode.
