Pump Belt
The belts are not adjustable. Replace belts if they
begin to slip from wear.
Replacing Pump Belt
Park the mower on a level surface. Engage the
parking brake.
Belt Removal
Remove the deck belt (see
1.
Deck Belt Removal
in this section of the manual).
Remove clutch stop to access the belt.

Disconnect clutch wire.
3.
With a ½" breaker bar and using the square

opening in the idler arm, shift the arm to create
slack in the belt.
Remove belt from the engine and pump pulleys.

Belt Installation
Wrap the belt around the engine pulley.

Wrap the belt around the left pump pulley.

Route the belt around the inside of the idler

pulley.
With a ½" breaker bar and using the square

opening in the idler arm, shift the arm to create
slack in the belt.
While holding the idler back with the breaker
bar, wrap the belt around the right pump pulley.
Replace and secure clutch stop.

Reinstall the deck belt. (See

Check every 100 hours of operation. Check for severe
cracking and large nicks.
NoTE: The belt will show some small cracks in normal
operation.
Double check belt routing to make sure it

does not have any twist. Correct if needed.
Adjust belt tension by turning the eyebolt until

Belt tension should be set to 60-70 lbs.

Replace belt shields on both mandrel housings
