TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE
A WARNING:
Always stop unit and disconnect spark plug before performing ali of
ttie recommended remedies befow except remedies that require operation of the unit.
TROUBLE
CAUSE

Engine wiil not
start or wilt run
only a few
seconds after
starting.
1. Ignition switch off.
2. Engine fiooded.
3. Fuel tank empty.
4. Spark plug not firing.
5. Fuel not reaching
carburetor.
1. Move ignition switch to ON.
2. See “Difficult Starting" in
Operation Section.
3. Fill tank with correct fuel mixture.
4. Install new spark plug.
5. Check for dirty fuel filter; replace.
Check for kinked or sptit fuel line;
repair or replace.
Engine wilt
not idie
properly.
1. idSe speed requires
adjustment.
2. Carburetor requires
adjustment.

2. Contact an authorized service dealer.
Engine wiil not
accelerate,
lacks power,
or dies under
a load.
1. Air filter dirty.
2. Spark plug fouled.
3. Chain brake engaged.

1. Clean or replace air filter.

Clean or replace plug and regap.
3. Disengage chain brake.
4. Contact an authorized service dealer.

excessively.

gasoline.
