1. Remove lawn mower and all parts from the

carton. Make certain that all loose parts and

literature have been removed before the car­

ton is discarded.

2.

Extend throttle control assembly which is at­

tached to engine and place on floor. Be
careful not to bend or kink control wire.

—3. Line up the upper slotted hole in lower handle

with the mounting hole on deck. Place
shoulder bolt (A) through lower handle and
deck. See figure 2.

Place belleville washer (B) on the shoulder
bolt, with the cupped side of the washer

against the deck. Secure with hex nut (C).

_ NOTE

It may be necessary to bend the
ends of the lower handle inward
slightly to obtain a snug fit against
the deck.

■4. There are two height positions for the handle.

Place upper handle in position over lower han­
dle, selecting hole for either high or low posi­
tion. Refer to figure 9. Secure with curved car­
riage bolts (D), lock washers (E) and hex nuts

(C) as shown in figure 3.
