Before Calling Service Personnel
Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before requesting service.

No sound • The equipment connected with the audio
cable is not set to receive the DVD signal.
• Select the correct input mode of the audio
receiver so you can listen to the sound
from the DVD video player.

• The audio cables are not connected

• Connect the audio cable to the jacks
securely.

• The power of the equipment connected
with the audio cable is turned off.
• Turn on the equipment connected with the
audio cable.

• The AUDIO SELECTOR is set to the
wrong position.
• Set the AUDIO SELECTOR to the correct
position, then turn on the DVD video player
again by pressing the POWER button.

The playback picture has
occasional distortion. The disc is dirty. • Eject the disc and clean it. 37
• Sometimes a small amount of picture
distortion may appear. This is not a
mulfunction.
The DVD video player does not
start playback. • No disc is inserted. • Insert a disc. (Check that the DVD or audio
CD indicator in the DVD display is lit.)

• An unplayable disc is inserted. • Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc type
and color system.)

• The disc is placed upside down. • Place the disc with the playback side down. 15

• A menu is on the TV screen. • Press the SET UP button to remove the
menu screen.

• The parental lock function is set. • Cancel the parental lock function or change
the parental lock level.

Buttons do not work. Power supply fluctuations or other
abnormalities may interrupt correct
operation. Turn the power on or off with the POWER
button. Or disconnect the power plug and
insert it into the wall outlet again.
The remote control does not
work properly. • The remote control is not pointed at the
remote sensor of the DVD video player.
• Point the remote control at the remote
sensor of the DVD video player.

• The remote control is too far from the
DVD video player.
• Operate the remote control within about
seven meters.

• There is an obstacle between the remote
control and the DVD video player.
• Remove the obstacle. -
• The batteries in the remote control are
exhausted.
