SUPPLY

Batteries: Insert as indicated two alkaline batteries, type
R6, UM-3 or AA. Remove the batteries if exhausted or if

they are not to be used for a long time.

Mains adapter: Connect a mains adapter to the 3 V DC
socket. The adapter must supply 3 V DC ©-©-©, minus-
pole © to the 01.3 mm centre pin of the 03.4 mm socket.

RADIO RECEPTION

• Set the RADIO/TAPE selector to RADIO.
• Connect headphones to the PHONES 0 jack.
• Set the BAND selector to AM (=MW), to FM (mono) or

to FM STEREO.
• Tune to the desired radio station using the TUNING
knob. The headphone lead will function as FM-aerial.

• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME and

GRAPHIC EQUALIZER.
• If BAND selectoris in position FM STEREO, you will hear

FM-stereo programmes in stereo. The FM STEREO

Indicator will light up then. However, if the FM-stereo

radio-signal Is too weak, the disturbing noise can be
suppressed by setting BAND selector to position FM

(mono). The FM STEREO indicator will then go out and you
will hear the programme in mono.

• The set is switched off when the RADIO/TAPE selector

is in position TAPE and no cassette player button is

pressed.

PLAYING BACK CASSETTES

• Set the RADIO/TAPE selector to TAPE.
• Connect headphones to the PHONES jack.

• Open the cassette holder and insert the cassette in it

with the open part facing the buttons.

• To start playback, press PLAY <.
• Adjust the sound with the controls VOLUME and
GRAPHIC EQUALIZER.
• To stop playback, press STOP and the set is switched

off.

FAST WINDING
Press ■« or ►►. To stop fast winding, press STOP.

MAINTENANCE

• Clean the magnetic head after every 50 hours of

operation or, on average, once a month by playing through
the cleaning cassette SBC 114.
• Do not expose the set and the cassettes for any great

length of time to excessive heat from heating equipment or
direct sunshine, e.g. in motor cars parked in the sun.
• Keep the set and the cassettes away from sand and do
not store the cassettes near TV-sets or loudspeakers.

This set complies with the radio interference requirements

of the European Community.

The type number will be found at the back of the set and

the serial number in the battery compartment.
