4 IFS MCR-R15 Media Converter Rack User Manual
Power Notice:
1. The MCR-R15 media converter rack provides power for up
to 15 MCR Series media converters. To ensure network
reliability and to reduce the possibility of data loss or
network link loss, it is recommended that a UPS
(Uninterrupted Power Supply) be installed as part of your
installation.
2. For additional protection against unregulated voltage or
current surges, you may also want to consider surge
suppression as part of your installation.
Installing the MCR-R15 Rack
Desktop mount installation
• The mounting ears do not need to be installed for desktop
installation.
• Place the four included rubber feet at the bottom corners of
the media converter chassis to allow for proper air
ventilation.
• Check to makes sure the main power switch is set to the
"OFF" position before connecting the AC power cord.
Rack mount installation for an EIA rack
• Install the mounting ears to the each side of the media
converter rack by using the four screws provided.
• Determine the position the media converter rack will be
installed in the 19" EIA rack.
Note: It is important to allow at least 1U spacing below the
chassis to allow for proper air ventilation generated by the
built-in fans.
• Securely install the chassis to the rack using screws.
