Step 2. Operating the Safety
A. To Put the Air Rifle "ON SAFE":
• Locate the safety directly in front of the trigger.
• Push the safety from the left side all the way in (Fig. 2).
The safety is not "On
Safe" unless it is pushed all the way in and the RED ring around the safety is not
showing. The air rifle will not fire when "On Safe".
Even when the safety is "On Safe", you should continue to handle the air rifle
safely. Do not ever point the air rifle at any person. Do not ever point the air rifle
at anything you do not intend to shoot.
B. To Take the Air Rifle "OFF SAFE":
• Push the safety from the right side all the way in. When you can see the RED ring
around the safety, the air rifle is "Off Safe" and can be fired.
Step 3. Pumping Your Air Rifle
• Put the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A).
• Open the forearm all the way until it stops (Fig. 3). Be sure to hold the forearm firmly
as you open it. It could spring back into the closed position, possibly causing injury.
Place your hands in the same positions shown in Fig. 3 in order to avoid being
pinched, should you lose hold of the forearm. Do not twist the forearm while
pumping. Use straight strokes to prevent breakage.
• Be sure to use at least two pumps (but no more than 10) to prevent the barrel from
jamming with a BB or pellet remaining in the barrel after firing.
• Return the forearm to the original closed position with a smooth stroke. Be sure to
hold the forearm firmly as you close it to prevent it from springing open and possibly
causing injury.
Step 4. Loading and Unloading BBs
A. Loading BBs
• Put the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A) .
• Point the air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Slide the loading port cover toward the rear of the air rifle (Fig. 4).
• Pour no more than 200 BBs into the re s e rvoir hole. Do not put pellets in the re s e rvoir hole
because they will jam the re s e rv o i r.
• Close the loading port cover.
• Pull the BB retainer button back (Fig. 5).
• Point the barrel straight down.
• With a hand twisting motion, shake and twist the air rifle (See Fig. 5) to fill the visual magazine
(See Fig. 6) .
• Push the BB retainer button forw a rd to keep the BBs in the magazine as shown in Fig. 6.
• With the barrel tilted downward, cock the bolt by pulling it all the way back and then pushing
it all the way forw a rd. The magnetic bolt will pick up a BB.
• Position the pellet clip so the bolt will feed through one of the pellet chambers in the clip. (See
Fig. 6) (As you push the bolt forw a rd slowly, you can see the BB move through the pellet clip)
(See Fig. 6). The BB is now in position to be fired out of the barre l .
N O T E : BBs will not transfer from the magazine to the barrel if the rifle is tilted upward .
B. Unloading BBs
• Pump the air rifle (See Step 3), cock the bolt by pulling it all the way back and then
pushing it all the way forward, point the air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION and pull the trigger
to fire. This will unload the BB from the magnetic bolt.
• Put the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A).
• Pull the BB retainer button back (Fig 7).
• Tilt the barrel upward.
• With a hand twisting motion, shake and twist the air rifle until ALL of the
BBs are out of the visual magazine.
• Push the BB retainer button forw a rd to block BBs from the visual magazine.
• Tilt the air rifle (barrel downward) and check to see if there are any BBs in
the visual magazine. If there are still BBs in the visual magazine, repeat
pumping, cocking the bolt, pointing in a SAFE DIRECTION and firing until
the magazine is empty.
• Pull the bolt all the way back and then slowly forw a rd to see if there is a BB on the magnetic bolt.
• If there is a BB on the magnetic bolt, pump the air rifle (See Step 3), and cock the bolt by
pulling it all the way back and then pushing it all the way forward.
• Point the air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "Off Safe" (See Step 2B) and fire. This will unload
any BB from the magnetic bolt.
• Repeat this unloading procedure until no BBs are visible on the magnetic bolt.
Step 5. Loading and Unloading Pellets
A. Loading Pellets (use .177 caliber pellets only)
• Unload all of the BBs from the air rifle (See Step 4B). DO NOT load a pellet when BBs are
loaded in the air rifle. It may cause a jam.
• Put the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A).
• Point the air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Pull the bolt all the way back.
• Grasp the pellet clip handle and remove it by pulling it to the right.
• Place a pellet (nose first), in each of the five pellet chambers (Fig. 8). IMPORTANT:
To avoid jams or deforming pellets, make sure each pellet skirt is level or slightly
below the rim of the pellet chamber.
• Replace the pellet clip, making sure to line up one of the pellet chambers with the
barrel chamber (Fig. 9). IMPORTANT: If the pellet clip is not lined up properly, you
will not be able to push the bolt forward.
• Push the bolt all the way forw a rd. The pellet is now in a position to fire out of the barre l .
• Repeat lining up each pellet chamber with the barrel chamber.
B. Unloading Pellets
• With the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A), pump the air rifle once (See Step 3) and
cock the bolt by pulling it all the way back and pushing it forward.
• Take the air rifle "Off Safe" (See Step 2B), point the air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION and pull the
trigger to fire.
• Put the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A).
• Remove the pellet clip (See Step 5A).
• Using a ramrod, gently push each pellet out of the clip. IMPORTANT: Never use sharp metal
tools to remove pellets.
• Lay the clip aside.
• With the air rifle "On Safe" (See Step 2A), pump it once (See Step 3), cock the bolt by pulling it
all the way back and pushing it forw a rd, aim in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "Off Safe" (See Step 2B)
and pull the trigger to fire .
• Another way of unloading the air rifle is to follow the directions listed under Step 7. - Removing a Jammed BB or Pellet.
• Put the empty clip back in your air rifle.
Step 6. Aiming and Firing Safely
A. Aiming the Air Rifle
• You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes.
• Always aim your air rifle in a SAFE DIRECTION. When you are sure of your target and
backstop, and the area around the target is clear, take the air rifle "Off Safe" (See Step 2B)
and pull the trigger to fire.
• Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet may bounce off or
ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to hit.
• Always choose your target carefully. It is best to shoot at paper bullseye targets which
are attached to a safe backstop such as the Crosman 850 Target Trap. A heavy blanket
should be hung behind the Target Trap to prevent ricochet should you miss the
backstop.
• Your backstop should be checked for wear before and after each use. Replace your
backstop if the surface is worn or damaged or if a ricochet occurs.
• Your air rifle is designed for target shooting and is suited for both indoor and outdoor
use. Always remember to place your target carefully. THINK about what you will hit if
you miss the target.
• The air rifle is correctly aimed when the front sight blade is positioned exactly in the
center of the notch of the rear sight. The top of the front sight blade should be even with
the top of the notch in the rear sight. The bullseye should appear to rest on the top of
the front sight (Fig. 10).
B. Sight Adjustment
Model 66: The rear sight may be adjusted to shoot higher or lower (elevation). Move
the rear sight elevator back to make the BB or pellet hit higher on the target. Move the
rear sight elevator forward to make the BB or pellet hit lower on the target. When
moving the elevator, slightly lift the rear sight and reset it on the desired notch in the
elevator (Fig. 11).
The rear sight may also be adjusted to shoot right or left (windage). Loosen the
windage adjustment screws by turning them counterclockwise. Move the sight to the
right to make the BB or pellet hit to the right on the target. Move the sight to the left to
make the BB or pellet hit to the left of the target. Then tighten the windage adjustment
screws by turning them clockwise (Fig. 12).
Model 760: The rear sight may be adjusted to shoot higher or lower (elevation). Move
the rear sight elevator back to make the BB or pellet hit higher on the target. Move the
rear sight elevator forward to make the BB or pellet hit lower on the target. When
moving the elevator, slightly lift the rear sight and reset it on the desired notch in the
elevator (Fig. 13).
Step 7. Removing a Jammed BB or Pellet
• Do not reload the air rifle.
• Put the air rifle "On Safe".
• Unload the BBs from the visual magazine (See Step 4B).
• Remove and unload the clip (See Step 5).
• With the air rifle "On Safe", open the bolt by pulling it all the way back,
insert a ramrod into the barrel and carefully push the jammed pellet or
BB into the loading groove. Do not try to reuse that pellet (Fig. 14).
• If you are not able to unjam your air rifle by following the unloading
p ro c e d u re, take no further action. Crosman Corporation or an
Authorized Service Station will unjam your air rifle (no cost during the
warranty period).
Step 8. Maintaining Your Air rifle
• Your air rifle will work best if you oil it every 250 shots. Put 2 or 3 drops of
Crosman 0241 Lubricating Oil on the pump pivot pins and the pump cup in the
pump mechanism (Fig. 15). A light coat of Crosman 0241 Lubricating Oil on all
exposed metal parts helps prevent rust. DO NOT use a petroleum distillate
based oil or solvent and DO NOT over-oil as this can cause damage to your air
rifle.
• If the accuracy of your air rifle falls off, run a firm but free fitting patch through
the barrel. Be sure to use a ramrod of the proper size that will not damage the
barrel.
• Tampering with the air rifle or attempts to change the air rifle in any way may make it unsafe to use and will void the
warranty.
• If you drop your air rifle, check to see that it works properly before you use it again. If anything seems changed, like a
shorter or weaker trigger pull, this may mean worn out or broken parts. Call the factory for assistance before using your
air rifle again.
Step 9. Reviewing Safety
• Do not ever point the air rifle at any person. Do not ever point the air rifle at anything you do not intend to shoot.
• Always treat the air rifle as though it is loaded and with the same respect, you would a firearm.
• Always aim in a SAFE DIRECTION. Always keep the muzzle of the air rifle pointed in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Always check to see if the air rifle is "On Safe" and unloaded when getting it from another person or from storage.
• Always keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
• You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes.
• Use BBs or .177 caliber (4.5 mm) pellets only. Never reuse ammunition.
• Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet may bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or
something you had not intended to hit.
• Replace the backstop if it becomes worn. Place the backstop in a location that will be safe should the backstop fail.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or tamper with your air rifle. Use an Authorized Service Station or return it to the factory
for repair.
• Do not put the air rifle away loaded. Make sure ALL of the BBs and pellets are unloaded from the air rifle (See Step 4B
and 5B).
• Always keep your CROSBLOCK® trigger block in place when storing this air rifle in a secure location. (See CROSBLOCK
instructions packaged with this air rifle for assistance.)

air rifle requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. If you take it apart, you probably will not be able to reassemble it
correctly. Crosman assumes no warranty responsibility under such circumstances.
LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
This product is warranted to the retail consumer for one year from date of retail purchase against defects in material and
workmanship and is transferable. To register the serial number (located on the receiver) of your gun, please return the Product
Registration form found in your owner’s manual packet. The warranty is not conditioned on the return of the card.

Replacement parts and labor. Transportation charges to consumer for repaired product.

Use BBs only when following Step 4 and use .177 pellets only when following Step
5. Never reuse ammunition. Use of any other ammunition can cause injury to you or damage to the air rifle.
WARNING:
Never pump your air rifle more than 10 times. Over-pumping gives only a
slight increase in power, if at all, and can cause major damage to your air rifle. Pumping more
than 10 times may also leave a small amount of air in the air rifle after it is fired which may allow
you to fire a second shot without additional pumping.
