OPERATION
RECEIVE
1. Turn the radio ON. Rotate the ON/OFF Volume control
clockwise until you hear the click. A channel number
should appear in the LCD Display.

switch to select the desired
channel.
3. Press the monitor switch (Auto-squelch turns OFF).
4. Rotate the ON/OFF Volume control to adjust the speaker
volume to a comfortable level.
5. Press the Monitor switch (Auto-squelch turns ON).
Auto-Squelch
Automatically eliminates the unwanted "rushing" noise when
the unit is turned ON.
- press the Monitor Switch to set the Auto-squelch
feature ON or OFF
Note: To listen to weak signal transmissions, switch OFF
the Auto-squelch feature (Squelch is on minimum
level).
Channel Scan
UP
W/hen you pressed the
O
Key for more than 1.5 seconds,
the scan feature starts and the SCN indicator appears on
the LCD.
Scanning stops automatically on any active channel that is
not Locked-out, receives a call and you hear the caller.
UP
To resume scanning, press the Q Key.
If there is too much activity on a certain channel and you
w^h to exclude it from being scanned, simply press the
O Key when on that channel. It will be automatically
removed from the scan list, and scanning resumes (please
see page 12 on how to create a channel scan list).
