Note on rechargeable batteries
The rechargeable batteries should be recharged when they are used for the first time, when
they have not been used for a long period or when the battery indicator blinks. The fully-
charged status can be attained after about 2 hours of recharging. Be sure to use the provided
rechargeable batteries or the optional NB-88/NB-77. Never use rechargeable batteries other
than specified

Start recharging.
1. Set the power OFF.
2. Plug in the AC adapter.
3. Wait for 5 seconds, then press the I key
twice successively.

Connect to DC IN jack.
After recharging, unplug the AC
adapter from this unit.
• Be careful not to invert the ® and © polarity,
• Recharging is not possible during playback. Be sure to
set the power OFF before starting recharging.
• The rechargeable batteries can be recharged and re
used for around 500 times. When the possible play
back period decreases, purchase the optional IslB-SS/
NB-77rechargeable batteries.
• Be sure to close the top cover of the unit before
proceeding to recharging.

' If batteries are recharged befor they are completely
empty, full charging may become impossible due to
the properties of rechargeable batteries. If this occurs,
try to recharge batteries after they have become empty:
The battery capacities will recover gradually.
► Rechargeable batteries cannot be recharged while the
external battery case Is attached,
