16. Replace terminal cover on thermostat maJdng sure chat the
loddng tabs on the rerminal cover are in place.
17 Replace the insulation block so that it conipletelf covers the
thermostat and element.
NOTE: For replacemeat, use a
’^Vn"
x x '/«" thick washer
available at your nearest hardware store. For ordering a
replacement washer, refer to the “Parts Order List?’ section.
• Before beginning turn "OFF” the electrica! power supply to
the water heater.

19- Turn "ON" electric power to water heater
A WARNING
HAZARD OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK! Before removing
any access panels or servicing the v?ater heater, make
sore the electrical supply to the water heater is turned
“OFF”. Failure to do this could result in DEATH, SERI
OUS BODIOf INJURY^ OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Follow “Draining” instructions. See "Draining” section.
Turning counter clockwise, remove the hex cap below the
screw handle.
Remove the washer and put the new one in place.
Screw the handle and cap assembly back into the drain valve
and retighten using a wrench. DO NOT OVE.R TIGHTEN-
Follow “Filling the Water Hearer” instructions in the
“Installation Instructions" secdon-
Check for leaks.
Turn “ON" electric power to the water heater.

Guide of this manual.
