5 Operation
5.1 Checking the suction output
Check the suction output of the Cartridger at the cartridge
holder prior to each packing process. This is quite easy and
fast using the supplied cartridge with the glass ball. Screw in
the cartridge and open the vacuum valve. The ball should
quickly rise to the top and remain there. Cartridges cannot be
packed if it doesn’t rise, rises very slowly or falls to the bottom
again. Check the vacuum seal of the system, inspect and
replace the safety frits if necessary (see 6.2 Replacing the
safety frits). If the suction output is adequate following these
checks you can now begin to pack cartridges.
