Laminate and Cork T-molding
T-molding transition piece is used to transition between floors of the same height. It is usually used to provide
expansion gaps for large areas or for when the floor is interrupted by wall openings or permanent fixture such
as a kitchen island. There are several ways to accomplish the task of installing T- molding. This is just one of
them.
Step 1.
Insert the T-molding post section into the U track. Position the T-
mold/U track assembly in front of the installed floor at a distance of
5/16” from the installed floor. Mark the location of the track on the
subfloor.
Step 2.
Secure the t-mold to the subfloor using ¼” by 1” flat head screw.
Step 3.
Begin installing the rest of the floor on the other side of the track.
Step 4.
Secure the T-mold in place by inserting the post section into the track.
Begin at one end of the track. Then use a rolling motion to press in the
rest of the post into the track.
