Using unit HCR 12-22 as the hostmakes it possible to use amplifiers of differentmanufacturers to drive QUBE series loudspeakers
HCR 12-22 is a 2-rack unit system designed to accommodate and power two SP 22D or SP 22Ds processors, equipped with all the
necessary connectors for correct interfacing of processors and amplifiers.
The rear panel of the HCR 12-22 processor is equipped with 12 connectors (6 for amplifier “1” and 6 for amplifier “2”); 2 XLR-M sockets
(CH1 / CH2) carry the outputs for the unbalanced and processed signal outputs, to be connected to the amplifier inputs.
2 “Sensing” Speakons towhich the amplifier power outputs are to be connected; 2 "Link" Speakons for connection of the loudspeakers.
The Speakons use exclusively the 1+ / 1- terminals. CAUTION: do not invert CH1 and CH2 in the signal path from input to output (see
example in fig.3).
Since the XLR signal outputs are unbalanced, the connections between the outputs and the power stage inputs must be as short as possible
to avoid hum problems.
The use of HCR 12-22 is not recommended with amplifiers of higher power than 1200W/8ohm, 2000W/4ohm, 2500W/2ohm per channel.
Processors SP 22D and SP 22Ds cannot function independently: they must always be installed in a host-unit composed of QUBE PA140,
PA300, PA360 power amplifiers.
