Continue to trim the hair on the nape of the neck upwards from the lower part of the neck to the ears.
Second step - cutting the back of the head
Change the setting of the comb attachment when the device has been switched off if
necessary, then trim the nape of the neck and the back of the head.
Third step - cutting the hair from the sides of the head
Change the setting of the comb attachment when the device has been switched off and
continue trimming towards the hair on the side of the head.
Fourth step - trimming of the poll
To trim the top of the head, direct the blades from the nape towards the front so as to cut
against the growth direction of the hair. Sometimes – e.g. at so called coils - this requires
changing the cutting direction from the front towards the nape.
For longer hair, use the accessory comb to lift hair on the crown of the head. Trim the
amount of hair lifted above the comb or lift hair with two fingers and cut to the length
intended.
Whilst clipping, comb out shaved hair from time to time and check for unevenness;
correct, if necessary.
Fifth step - last phase of hair trimming
At the end of the hair-cut, use the hair clipper without the comb attachment in order to trim any hairs remaining
on the bottom of the neck, at its side and around the ears.
To do this, set the three-way switch of the device into its upper (adjustment) position.
In order to achieve a straight trim of a side curl, use the hair clippers in vertical direction, with the cutting blades
upward.
Apply the hair trimmer gently to the contours of the hair so as to touch the skin surface
with the point of the blades and make downward movements with the trimmer. By
doing this, you can achieve contours as if you’d used a razor.
6. Before beginning the trim, comb the hair to remove any knots.
7. Place a gown about the neck and shoulders of the person having their hair cut.
Warning!
Trim hair gently and at a steady rate. Cut only a short length of hair at a time; you can continue later if required.
During the trim, comb the hair frequently to the style you are wanting to achieve.
General advice before starting to trim hair
Hair cutting requires some experience. It is much better to leave hair on the long side for the first few trimmings,
until you get accustomed to the lengths produced by each of the comb attachments.
Using the comb attachment accessories
•
When inserting comb attachments, ensure the comb attachment locking button (Part 3) is in its unlocked
position (UNLOCK).
•
Push both protruding sides of the comb attachment into rails on both sides of the device so that its comb side
is turned towards the rear part (fixing button side of the comb attachment) of the device, then push it to the
corresponding clipping setting.
•
Then move the comb attachment locking button to its locked position (LOCK)!
•
When removing the comb attachment, push the locking button to its unlock position (UNLOCK), then pull
down the comb attachment from the device blades.
•
To realise a straight cut, let the appliance cut the way for itself through the hair. Do not force the cut by
pushing the trimmer through the hair.
•
Remember to remove the hair that has been cut.
First step - trimming the nape of the neck
Set the comb attachment into the position for the required hair trim. Between steps it is possible to readjust the
trimming length when the device has been switched off.
Set the three-way switch of the device into its lower (clipping) position.
Hold the edge of the cutting blades of the hair clippers upwards against the hair on the
nape of the neck and begin trimming. Start trimming in the middle of the nape of the
neck from below and move the trimmer upwards.
Hold the hair clipper gently in your hand and push it slightly against the head directing the teeth of the comb
attachment upwards.
Lift the hair clipper slowly, moving the teeth of the comb attachment upwards and away from the nape of the
neck through the hair. Cut only a small amount of hair at once.
Lift the hair clipper blades bit-by-bit, outwards from the bend of the nape of the neck.
