a short time, for safety reasons first turn the appliance off then disconnect the power cord

Water vapour is generated when making coffee. Please bear this in mind when deciding where to use the
coffee maker. It needs to be in an area where air can flow around it freely and should never be used in narrow
or low places, such as the shelves of a fitted kitchen. You should also keep the coffee maker away from direct
sunshine because this can fade or discolour the casing.

Should the appliance fall into any kind of liquid during operation do not grasp it, first disconnect it
from the mains and only remove it from the liquid when the power has been disconnected. Take it
to an authorised service engineer for checking and repair.
Do not touch the appliance with moist hands. Plug the connector of the appliance into the mains
with dry hands only, and check that the casing, power cord and connector of the appliance as well
as the mains socket are dry. Should any moisture get inside the casing of the appliance stop using
it immediately and take it to a specialized service for checking or repair.

Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

Certain parts of the appliance (e.g. glass jugs, the metal coffee filter and filter holder of the espresso maker,
the steam wand and the safety cap of the water reservoir of the espresso unit, as well as the filter coffee
maker's hot plate) heat up during use, so be careful not to touch them.

The coffee maker should only be used by adults or with appropriate adult supervision. Make sure the mains
cable doesn’t touch any part of the appliance that becomes hot during use.

Use the cable holder at the back of the appliance to secure any excess length of cable.

Do not place the appliance near a gas or electric hob or oven, or in a space where there is something above
the appliance (e.g. under a wall-mounted cupboard of a built-in kitchen).

The use of the appliance must be avoided in areas where the temperature is too high or too low or where the
appliance is subject to vibrations. Avoid using the appliance under wet or vaporous conditions. The appliance
can be used within the temperature range of +10°C to +35°C and stored within the range of +5°C to +40°C.

Be careful to fill the water tank for the part of the appliance you intend to use before turning it on. Never turn
on the part of the appliance that does not have water in the tank.

After filling the coffee maker's water tanks with water, always put the cover back down. Never use the
appliance without lowering the cover, and never lift the cover while either side of the appliance is in use.

Never open the espresso maker's water tank cover while the appliance is on. Before opening the espresso
maker's water tank, check that the water tank is not under pressure. The filter holder with ground coffee in it
can also not be removed while the appliance is running (i.e. is under pressure). Be sure to have a suitable jug
under the turbo nozzle of the steam wand when the appliance is in steam making mode to catch the steam.
This will prevent accidents.

After use and before cleaning, always remove the power cord from the mains socket (or electric extension
cord). Never turn off the appliance by pulling out the plug from the mains by the power cord; always hold the
plug itself. Before disconnecting from the mains, turn off the appliance.
