ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRIC DRYERS
Review the following options to determine the appropriate electrical connection
for your home:
4-wire receptacle
(NEMA type14-30R)
Use the instructions in this section if your home has
a 4-wire receptacle (NEMA type 14-30R) and you
will be using a UU listed, 120/240 volt minimum,
30 amp, dryer power supply cord.

3-wire receptacle
(NEMA type10-30R)
Use the instructions in this section if your home has
a 3-wire receptacle (NEMA type 10-30R) and you
will be using a UL listed, 120/240 volt minimum,
30 amp, dryer power supply cord.
4-wlre direct
If this type is available at your home, you will be
connecting to a fused disconnect or circuit breaker
aox.

3-wire direct
If this type is available at your home, you will be
connecting to a fused disconnect or circuit breaker
box.
Connect the power supply wire to the terminal
block. Colored wire should be connected to
same color screw. Wire color indicated on
manual is connected to the same color screw in
block. Otherwise,a short or excessive current
flow may result.

4-wire connection : Direct wire
Warning : Grounding dirough tlie neutral conductor is
prohibited for (1) new branch-circuit installations, (2)
mobile homes, (3) recreational vehicles, and (4) areas
where local codes prohibit grounding through the
neutral conductor. Failure to do so can result in fire or
electrical shock.
Prepare minimum 5 ft (1.52 m) of lengtli in order for
dryer to be replaced.
First, peel 5 inches (12,7 cmj of covering material from
end. Strip 5 inches of ground wire insulation. After
cutting IV: inch (3.8 cm) from 3 otlier wires peel
insulation back 1 inch (2.5 cm). Make ends of 3 wires a
hook shape.
Then, put the hooked shape end of the wire under the
screw of the terminal block (hooked end facing to the
right) and pinch die hook t^ether and screw tighdy.
1. Connect neutral wire (white) of power cord to center
terminal block screw,
2. Connect red and black wires to die left and right
temiinal block screws,
3. Connect ground wire (gree^^f p^^r cord to external
ground screw and
