Using Your Studio Laptop
1 Security cable slot – Attaches a
commercially available antitheft device to
the computer.
NOTE: Before you buy an antitheft
device, ensure that it works with the
security cable slot on your computer.

HDMI Connector – HDMI
(High-Definition Multimedia Interface)
connector carries an uncompressed all
digital signal to produce hi-definition
video and audio.

VGA connector – Connects to
a monitor or projector.

Network connector – If you are
using a cabled network, this port connects
your computer to a network or broadband
device.

USB 2.0 connector – Connects to
USB devices, such as a mouse, keyboard,
printer, external drive, or MP3 player.

eSATA Connector – Connects to
eSATA compatible storage devices, such
as external hard disk drives or optical
drives.

IEEE 1394 connector – Connects to
high-speed serial multimedia devices,
such as digital video cameras.

Audio In/ Microphone connector –
Connects to a microphone or inputs signal
for use with audio programs.

Audio Out/ Headphone
connectors (2) – Connects one or two
pairs of headphones, or sends audio to
a powered speaker or sound system.
The audio signal is the same for both
connectors.
