Seeding with Both Compartments
1.
Clean out boxes as explained under Fertilizer Clean
Out, “Maintenance and Lubrication,” on page 34.
2. Open divider door between seed and fertilizer com-
partments. To open door, loosen black knobs (1)
shown in Figure 2-7. Loosen knobs until bent clips can
be turned off door. When all bent clips have been
turned, swivel door back against fertilizer-tray open-
ing.

3. Use vinyl washout cover to hold divider door open as
shown in Figure 2-8.

4. To avoid unnecessary wear, remove fertilizer drive
chains.
Transporting
!
WARNING!
Towing the implement at high speeds or with a vehicle that is
not heavy enough can lead to loss of vehicle control. Loss of ve-
hicle control can lead to serious road accidents, injury and
death. To reduce the hazard:
• Do not exceed 32 kph (20 mph).
• Do not tow an implement that, when fully loaded, weighs
more than 1.5 times the weight of the towing vehicle.
1. Check that implement is securely hitched to a suffi-
cient tractor. Refer to Hitching Tractor to Implement,

“Preparation and Setup,” page 11. Make sure safety
chain is secured to tractor.
2. Unload seed box before transporting if at all possible.
The implement can be transported with a full box of
grain, but added weight will increase stopping dis-
tance and decrease manoeuvrability.
3. Check that tires are properly inflated. Refer to Tire In-
flation Chart, “Appendix,” page 42.
4. Know implement dimensions in transport position.
Choose a route that provides adequate clearance
from all obstructions. Refer to “Specifications and
Capacities,” page 41, for dimensions.
5. Hydraulically lift drill with transport-lift cylinders.
6. Install transport lock pins in vertical axle tubes.

7. Secure pivot-lock tubes for transport. Position tubes
so they are horizontal against hitch frame. See Figure
2-3.
8. Install lock channel over extended tongue-cylinder
rod.

9. Plug light-harness lead into tractor connector. Always
use warning lights when transporting drill.
10. Comply with all laws when travelling on public roads.
