Transport Lift Cylinders

The transport-lift cylinders are rephasing hydraulic cylin-
ders. After a period of normal use, the cylinders may get
out of sequence. If this happens, the hitch will lift unevenly
or one set of tires will not retract from the soil.

To rephase cylinders, raise drill completely and hold
hydraulic lever on for a few seconds to allow cylinders time
to rephase.

Fertilizer Operation

The fertilizer drill is equipped with dividers that partition
the drill box into 60 percent seed and 40 percent fertilizer.

Use only dry, granular fertilizer in the fertilizer compart-
ment.

1.

Clean any seed or debris from fertilizer compartment.

2.

Calibrate fertilizer-application rate as explained under
Fertilizer Rate Calibration, “Adjustments,” page 29.

3.

Check that divider door is closed so seed and fertilizer
cannot pass between compartments. See Figure 2-7,
page 15.

4.

Check that cleanout door (1) is latched securely as
shown in Figure 2-5. Close all door latches before
loading fertilizer compartment.

5.

Open lid over fertilizer compartment and swivel back
until it rests against open drill-box lid. See Figure 2-6.

er out of the seed compartment.
