Hitching the Tractor to Drill
!
DANGER!
You may be severely injured or killed by being crushed between
the tractor and drill. Do not stand or place any part of your
body between drill and moving tractor. Stop tractor engine and
set park brake before installing pins.
1.
Raise or lower tractor 3-point arms as needed and pin
lower arms to the drill.
2.
Pin upper arm to drill. For category II tractors, install
hitch pin in the lower hole. For category III tractors, in-
stall hitch pin in the upper hole.
3.
Check that all tractor 3-point arms are securely
pinned, then slowly raise the drill. Watch for cab inter-
ference.
4.
If using the optional parking stand, unpin the stand
tubes. Rotate stand up into field position and repin.
See Figure 2-5.

5.
Adjust the top 3-point link so the top edge of the box is
parallel with the ground when drilling.
6.
Set your tractor 3-point draft control in the float posi-
tion.
Hitching the Drill with Optional Pull Package
The pull package attaches to the drill with a quick-coupling
hitch and is equipped with a threaded or telescoping top
link.
•
Use the threaded link to adjust your drill so it runs hori-
zontal to the ground when drilling.
•
The telescoping link allows your drill to float front-to-
back and follow the ground contour.
When hooking up to the drill, be sure the quick hitches are
latched securely.
