SAFETY RULES

1) The heating plate may reach temperatures of up to 150°C. The green LED
indicator will be lit while the unit is heating. The unit will remain hot for a period of
time after use. Allow adequate time for the unit to cool before handling.
2) Containers, tubes and materials used with the COD Heater Block must be
compatible with the temperature ranges of this unit.

CLEANING

Always unplug the unit before cleaning. The heating plate must be cool. Use a
damp, nonflammable cloth and mild detergent.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

Use protective safety equipment appropriate for the temperature settings and
materials.

MAINTENANCE

All repairs to the unit must be made by authorized service centers. Contact your
local dealer for a list of service centers. Repairs by non-authorized service centers
will void the terms of the warranty.

WARRANTY

The warranty period begins from the date of the purchase receipt. Each unit is
registered by the serial number.
The manufacturer is engaged in the continuous improvement of this product, and
reserves the right to make modifications without notice.

SAFETY DEVICES
The heating element is equipped with a temperature-sensitive safety switch to
prevent damage to the unit from overheating. The unit will automatically shut off
when the temperature exceeds 170° C. Once the safety switch has been triggered,
the unit will no longer operate, and must be checked and reset by an authorized
service center before further use.

Instructions for use:
1. Connect the instrument to power source 230V/ 50Hz (115V/ 60Hz) by the

cable and two pin plus ground.

2. Turn unit on by pressing the main switch (A) located on the front panel. The unit

is preset to begin a heat cycle at a temperature of 148°C and a heating time
setting of 120 minutes. The temperature
(B) and time settings (C) are shown on
the LEDs on the front panel. The
heating time begins when the reactor
reaches the selected temperature,
indicated by the lighting of the green
LED (D), located on the front panel.
The unit will beep and automatically
shut off when the end of the heating
period is reached. The unit must be
turned off at the main switch (A) before
beginning a new heating cycle.

3. To adjust the temperature and heating

time, turn on the unit by the main
switch (A), and press the temperature
(B) and heating time (C) buttons to
select the required setting.

Settings:

Temperature:

100°C or 148°C

Time:

30 minutes, 60 minutes, 120
minutes, or continuous operation at
the selected temperature.

The settings for temperature or heating time may be changed at any point of
the heating cycle.

4. The heating block is equipped with two fuses, which are enclosed in the safety

plug located on rear panel. A blown fuse can be changed by removing the rear
connection socket and opening the small cover using the tip of a screwdriver.

5. This unit is designed and assembled according to safety standard IEC 1010

(1990) and Modification 1 (1991).

Verifying the temperature of heating block
The heating element in this unit is manufactured to hold the selected temperature
while minimizing temperature variations from the set point. The Pt100 temperature
probe maintains close alignment of set temperature and actual temperature of the
heating block. However, if verification is required, a thermometer may be inserted
in the opening provided in the heating block.
