PRO CE DURE
FREE AVAIL ABLE CHLO RINE & IODINE
1.
Rinse the test tube (0101) with the wa ter to be tested and then
fill the tube to the 10 mL line.
2. Add 2 drops of *Mer cu ric Chlo ride (6611), cap the tube and
in vert sev eral times to mix.
3. Add one DPD #1R Tab let (6999), cap the tube and shake to
dis solve the tab let.
4. Im me di ately in sert the tube into the com para tor (6902) and
com pare the sam ple with the color stan dards. Re cord the value as
Read ing A. Con tinue with step 5.
COM BINED CHLO RINE

Add one DPD #3R Tab let (6905) to the sam ple from Step 4
above, cap tube and shake to dis solve the tab let.
6. Com pare with the color stan dards in the com para tor. Re cord this
value as Read ing B. Dis card the sam ple.
FREE IO DINE
7.
Rinse test tube (0101) with the wa ter to be tested. Add 5 drops of
Glycine So lu tion (6811) and then fill the tube to the 10 mL line
with wa ter sam ple.
8. Add 2 drops of *Mer cu ric Chlo ride (6611), cap tube and mix.
9. Add one DPD #1R Tab let (6999), cap tube and shake to dis solve
the tab let.
10. Im me di ately in sert tube into the com para tor and com pare the
sam ple with the color stan dards. Re cord this value as Read ing C.

The test re sults are ob tained as fol lows:
