Continue to step 17 if the controller is to be connected remotely through
a WAN Ethernet connection.
17. Select the “Ethernet Connection” button from the home page of the
COBRA Remote Controller interface to access the Ethernet Configuration
page.
18. The controller will always, on power up or reboot, send a DHCP Discover
to the WAN network DHCP server. If the network has a server, it should
assign a free IP address to the controller at this time. The Ethernet
address assigned will be displayed on this page as “Current Ethernet IP:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”.
If the DHCP Discover is not answered in approximately 10 seconds, the
controller will use the “Default Ethernet IP” address displayed on the
dialog.
In some installations, the controller WAN IP may need to be assigned
manually and permanently. To do this, enter the IP address desired in the
“Default Ethernet IP” box and click the Set button. The controller will use
this address if DCHP times out. The installer must make sure, if the
default must be used, that there will not be an answer from the WAN to
the DHCP Discover.
19. Select the “Home” button and follow steps 6-16, if just beginning the site
set-up.
