Warning: The 6.6L Duramax is equipped with a two piece down pipe. Do not cut or remove the upper section.
imporTanT: it is illegal in all 50 states and Canada to remove the catalytic converter. Catalytic Converters must be
reinstalled in accordance with Federal Law.
REMOVAL OF STOCk EXHAUST SySTEM
in these steps you will remove the stock exhaust system.
1. Use a sawzall to cut the
exhaust immediately behind
the muffler.
2. Use a sawzall to cut the
exhaust in back of the Catalytic Converter
and in front of the band clamp.
3. Unbolt the exhaust system
starting at the second piece
of the down-pipe. You will
need a 7/16” deep socket in
order to remove it.
4. To make removing the
Hangers an easier process,
it is recommended that you
use a silicone spray lubricant
to spray each of the rubber
hangers holding the stock exhaust.
5. Remove each piece of the stock exhaust
system, including the stock exhaust hangers.
Cut Exhaust after muffler

Band Clamp
Cut Exhaust after catalytic converter
Unbolt down pipe
Remove all the necessary exhaust hangers
