ONFIGURATION
Before suspending the vacuum lifter from hoisting equipment as directed in the ASSEMBLY
section of the lifter's instruction manual, assemble the Adaptable Length Lift Bar in the
appropriate configuration for the intended use.
1 LOWER LIFT BAR SEGMENT
2 UPPER LIFT BAR SEGMENT - LONG
3 UPPER LIFT BAR SEGMENT - SHORT
The Adaptable Length Lift Bar can be shortened and/or its lift bail can be reversed, as necessary
for specialized lifting applications:
• For normal applications (see OPERATION: B
EFORE
U
SING THE
L
IFTER
in lifter's instruction manual),
use the standard configuration (A).
• For applications requiring
increased horizontal reach
, use the
reversed bail
configuration (B).
WARNING: Reversing lift bail orientation reduces Maximum Load Capacity (see
S
PECIFICATIONS
).
When the lift bail is reversed, make sure that the lifter still has sufficient load capacity for the
intended use (see OPERATION: B
EFORE
U
SING THE
L
IFTER
in lifter's instruction manual).
• For applications involving
minimal overhead clearance
, use the
shortened
configuration (C).
WARNING: Shortening Adaptable Length Lift Bar reduces Maximum Load
Capacity (see S
PECIFICATIONS
).
When the Adaptable Length Lift Bar is shortened, make sure that the lifter still has sufficient
load capacity for the intended use (see OPERATION: B
EFORE
U
SING THE
L
IFTER
in lifter's
instruction manual).
• For applications involving minimal overhead clearance
and
requiring additional reach, use the
shortened
configuration with
reversed bail
orientation (D) (
see preceding discussions
).
Note: Either shortening the Adaptable Length Lift Bar or reversing its lift bail affects the hang
angle of the lifter and the load. The operator should anticipate and compensate for this change.
