S&S AIR CLEANER INSTALLATION
1– Locate the following items (Picture 9 illustrates the these items, except the intake air temperature sensor):
• Intake air temperature sensor that was removed from the stock air cleaner back plate
• S&S back plate
• Aluminum hex spacers
• One 10-24 x ½ socket head cap screw
• Two ¼-20 x ½ low socket head cap screws
2– Install the intake air temperature sensor with the stock o-ring in place into the S&S back plate and apply 243 Loctite® to the S&S supplied
10-24 x ½ socket head cap screw and torque to 35 in-lbs. Picture 10 illustrates the location of the intake air temperature sensor. Apply 243
Loctite® to the two S&S supplied ¼-20 x ½ low socket head cap screws and install into the two counter bored holes on the back side of the
back plate. Thread the ¼-20 x ½ low socket head cap screws into one long hex spacer, positioned toward the front and one short hex spacer
positioned toward the back, and finish torque to 40-45 in-lbs. Picture 10 illustrates the location of the hex spacers.
