2– Remove the air filter element by removing the Phillips head screw pointed out in Picture 3.
3– Unhook the idle speed adjusting screw from the air cleaner back plate. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor at the connector on the
back side of the stock air cleaner back plate. Remove the hose at the air cleaner back plate that connects to the air switching valve. Picture 4
illustrates the location of the air temperature sensor connector, idle speed adjusting screw and the air switching valve hose.
4– Remove the seven socket head cap screws that hold the back plate to the throttle body and the cylinders. Picture 5 illustrates the socket head
cap screws that need removed. Note: Four of the five throttle body socket head cap screws will be used for installation of the new S&S® air cleaner kit.
