6.3 Manual Beam Adjustment
Note! The Beam Adjustment is designed to be
used by experts only, please contact trained
personnel
before adjusting the system.
Unauthorized adjustment of the beam
divergence control may result permanent link
loss and unreliable operation.
Do not over power the screw! In normal case the
screw can be turned with a very little force. If
you feel that the screw is hard to rotate, please
stop rotating it.
I general the alignment of the system has not
changed and it should be done by using the fine adjustment screws on the alignment
base. After the alignment is done we would suggest setting the beam divergence in
a way that the received level is between 6-8 LEDs on the other side. This amount of
received level ill give you a enough margin for the reliable communications.
Using a screw driver you can adjust the beam divergence easily by rotating the
screw seen on the picture above. Rotating it counter clockwise will close the beam
and increase the received power. Please note if the system is not aligned correctly,
by closing the beam you might see the drop of the received level.
By rotating it clockwise it will open the beam. Please note that you do not decrease
the received level below 3 LEDs. It might result link loss in bad weather
Should you experience any traipse while adjusting the beam divergence, re-
compensate it by using the fine adjustment screws.
