Product Data Sheet
FLEX TPO PRESSURE SENSITIVE PS COVERSTRIP
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Flex TPO PS Coverstrip is a .030” thick non-reinforced TPO flashing membrane laminated to a .030”
thick cured synthetic rubber pressure sensitive adhesive intended to strip in flat metal flanges such as
perimeter edge metal and prefabricated curb flanges. The Flex TPO PS Coverstrip is manufactured in 6”
wide by 100’ long rolls.
BENEFITS
Flex TPO PS Coverstrip provides for a fast and simple installation without the hot air welding
requirement over a variety of metal finishes.
INSTALLATION
· Clean existing membrane and metal with Flex Weathered Membrane Cleaner.
· Apply Flex TPO Primer to the area of the membrane to be flashed with a paint roller or paint
brush.
· Install Flex TPO Coverstrip immediately after Primer flashes off.
· Peel off approximately 12” of the release paper from underside of the coverstrip.
· Position coverstrip over the area to be covered and press down firmly and evenly with hand
pressure across the entire area.
· Immediately roll the Flex TPO PS Coverstrip with a 2” wide silicone roller using positive
pressure. Roll perpendicular to the length of coverstrip not parallel to the length.
· When the Flex TPO PS Coverstrip crosses metal joints or membrane seams, apply heat to the
coverstrip with a hot air welder and press coverstrip into the joint with a seam probe or roller to
crease into the joint.
· If applying coverstrip in temperatures below 40°F heat the primed area of the membrane with a
hot air gun as the coverstrip is applied and pressed into place.
· It is not required to apply cut edge sealant to the edges of the Flex TPO PS Coverstrip.
