SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Before inspecting or servicing any part of this machine, shut off power source,
and make sure all moving parts have come to a complete stop.

When the bottom bail is released, the engine should shut
down every time. Adjust the cable so when the shutdown
control just begins to move, the cable will begin to move
the lever on the end of it.
This machine is equipped with a 3vx530 2-groove banded
belt. Check the condition of the drive belt annually or after
every 30 hours of operation, whichever comes first. If the
belt is cracked, frayed, or worn, replace it.
To rePlaCe THe DrIVe BelT:
1. Shut off engine and allow all moving parts to come to
a complete stop.
2. Take off the top cover of the stump grinder by remov-
ing the four bolts on the sides.
3. loosen the four engine mounting bolts. Two bolts are
located on top of the engine mount plate (see below).
Two are located on the other side of the engine under
the engine mount plate.

Loosen these bolts
Loosen these two bolts and two on the other side
under the plate
4. loosen the nut on the back of the machine (see
below) and push the engine slightly forward to take
tension off the drive belt.
5. Remove drive belt and discard.
6. Install new belt.
7. Tighten the nut at the back of the machine until there
is a 1/32" gap between the idler spring coils (see
below).
8. Tighten engine mounting bolts
9. Reinstall top cover.
