2.2 LSS - SETUP AND ADJUSTMENT
Procedure Overview (All Vertical Lifts)
The mechanical portion of the LSS system requires three
(3) adjustments to operate properly.
• Platform Crossmember/Coil Spring Pre-load Height
Adjustment; sets the coil spring pre-load between the
platform and mast crossmember with no load in the
platform.
• Mast Header Crossmember Positive Stop Adjust-
ment; sets the maximum amount of downward travel of
the platform, if the platform is overloaded.
• LSS Overload Actuator Adjustment; sets the actuator
to trip the LSS limit switch, signaling an overload situa-
tion, when the platform is overloaded. There is a three
(3) second delay between switch opening and warning
activation.
THESE SETUP PROCEDURES WILL REQUIRE ACCURATELY
MEASURED WEIGHT UP TO AND OF A PERCENTAGE OVER THE
PLATFORM’S MAXIMUM CAPACITY. SEE TABLE 2-1 IN THE FOL-
LOWING SUB-SECTION.
