4 Installing the Air Locker

c Check that the axle stub turns freely.
IMPORTANT:
Any binding or stiffness could mean that the
threaded thrust block was not seated fully or was
not seated straight. If this is the case then the
thrust block position must be corrected in order to
correctly set up the Air Locker and to prevent
damage to the Air Locker and to the axle stub.
c To correct the thrust block position, pull the trust block into its seat
in the side gear spline using a slide hammer on the axle stub or by
using a large flat washer over the end of the bearing journal and
pulling the thrust block into place with the bolt.
c Once the axle stub is turning freely while the bolt is hand tight, re-
tighten the bolt using a torque wrench according to the torque
specification in your vehicle manufacturer’s service manual.
c Again make sure the axle stub is turning freely.
