products which may seriously dam-
age plastic parts. Never let any liquid
get inside the engine; never immerse
engine into a liquid.

The following procedures must be fol-
lowed when maintenance or service is
performed on the engine.
Any service operations not included in
this section should be performed by a
Black & Decker factory service center.

Cleaning Air Filter (Fig. 1)

WARNING: Hot surfaces. Risk of

burn. Engine and surrounding parts
are very hot, do not touch (see the Hot
Surfaces identified in Figure 1). Allow
engine to cool prior to servicing.
A dirty air cleaner will restrict airflow
to the carburetor. To prevent carbure-
tor mal func tion, service the air filter
regularly. Service more frequently
when operating the pressure washer in
extremely dusty areas.

WARNING: Using gasoline or flam-

mable solvent to clean the filter ele-
ment can cause a fire or explosion.

WARNING: Risk of fire. Do not

operate without air filter.

1. The engine oil must be changed after the first 20 hours of

operation. Thereafter change oil every 150 hours of operation or
monthly, whichever comes first.
