Select a flash mode, and press Z.

Press the shutter button halfway.
• In conditions where the flash will fire, #
lights (flash stand-by).

Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
TIPS
The # (flash charge) mark blinks.
→ The flash is charging. Wait until # turns off.
Note
• The flash does not fire in the following situations:
Sequential shooting, super macro or panorama.
• The flash may not give you the optimum result in macro mode with the zoom
set to wide-angle (W). Check the resulting picture on the monitor.
