Press
(15) or (16) to step through the FM fre-
quency band in steps of 0.05 MHz and 9 kHz for AM
until the desired frequency is displayed.
After two seconds idling the unit returns to auto search.
The display shows
AUTO.
Save Station
For each frequency band 6 station presets are available.
Press and hold the desired numeric button (4) approx.
2 seconds to save the current station. A beep can be
heard after successful storage (except setting to
BEEP
OFF).
Access Saved Station
Press
BAND/LOU/ENT (2) to select the desired frequen-
cy band.
Press one of the numeric buttons (4) to access the
respective station.
Auto Save
Press
BAND/LOU/ENT (2) to select the desired frequen-
cy band.
Press and hold
AS/PS (22). SEARCH is displayed. The
unit starts automatic search. With search, the first 18
stations are checked. The respective preset flashes.
Press one of the numeric buttons (4) to access the
respective station.
Cycle Through Saved Stations
Press
AS/PS (22). All stations are briefly played in
sequence.
Press
AS/PS (22). When the desired station comes up.
This station stays tuned into.
Alternative Frequencies (AF)
AF is an RDS (Radio Data System) function and is only
available for FM stations. The unit searches in the back-
ground the best frequency for the selected station.
Briefly hold down the
PTY/AF (17) button to switch
this function on or off.
AF is displayed: Function is activated and RDS information
is received.
AF flashes: No RDS information is received.
AF is not displayed: Function is deactivated.
Program Type (PTY)
Some FM stations transmit besides the station name also
the program type.
You can search for stations with certain genres.
Press the button
PTY/AF (17).
Select the desired PTY identification by turning the
multi- ‹controller (21). The PTY genre is displayed.
Such program types may be for example:
SPORT
NEWS
POP M
CLASSICS
After selecting the PTY genre the unit searches for the
respective stations and stops when a station is found. If
no station with the respective PTY genre is found,
NO PTY
is displayed.
The PTY function is deactivated if the selected PTY genre
is no lon-ger received. Or press the button
PTY/AF (17) to
end the function early.
Traffic Announcement (TA)
Hold down the
EQ/TA (19) button to switch this mode
on or off.
TA is displayed with activated mode.
In the TA mode, switching from any other operation
mode is done immediately to a radio station sending
traffic announcements at that time. The volume level
is set to 43 for receiving traffic announcements.
TRAFFIC is shown on the display.
Briefly hold down the
EQ/TA (19) button during
playback of traffic radio to interrupt the TA function
without switching the function off.
General CD Functions
Anti-shock Function (ESP - Electric Shock Protection)
The unit is equipped with anti-shock function. This func-
tion compensates for bumps on uneven streets and ensure
uninterrupted playback.
Insert and Remove CD
Press the release button (1) to flip down the control
panel.
Insert the CD with the label up into the CD drive Flip
the control panel back up. The display shows
CDP
PLAY. CD playback starts.
To eject the CD, press the
(23) button when the
control panel is flipped down. The CD is ejected. After
flipping up the control panel again, the unit switches
to radio mode.
Remove the CD from the drive. The CD will be retracted
again after 15 seconds if it is not removed from the
slot; in this case playback does not start automatically.
NOTE
Please note:
►
A large variety of burner and compression software
is on the market; there are differences in quality
between CDs and home-burnt CDs.
Furthermore, the music industry does not have fixed
standards (copy protection).
For this reason it can happen that in exceptional
cases play-back problems for CDs and MP3/WMA CDs
occur. This is
not a malfunction of this unit.
Select CD Mode (with CD inserted)
Repeatedly press
MODE (20) until CDP PLAY is dis-
played.
