Using the AF frame
The AF frame appears on the camera screen indicating the area of focus.
NOTE: This procedure does not apply to videos.
1 Press the Shutter button halfway down and hold.
The AF frame turns from red to green when the subject is in focus.
NOTE: If the camera is not focusing on the desired subject, the AF frame turns red. Recompose
the scene and repeat the previous Step.
2 Press the Shutter button completely down to take the picture.
NOTE: The AF frame does not appear when Focus is set to Inf.
Partial AF For focusing on subjects between 20 in. (50 cm) and 9 ft. 10 in.
(3 m) away. This is automatically selected in Portrait mode. This
cannot be selected in other scene modes, Auto mode, or Video
mode.
Inf
Focus is set to infinity; close objects will be out of focus.
