Taking pictures and videos
Taking a picture
1 Use the camera screen to frame your subject.
2 Hold the Shutter button halfway down to set
the exposure and focus.
3 If the AF frame is red, the exposure and focus
are not set correctly. Repeat Step 2.
4 When the AF frame (see page 13 ) turns green,
continue pressing the Shutter button
completely down to take the picture.
5 When the ready light blinks green, the picture
is being saved; you can still take pictures.
When the ready light is red, wait until it blinks
green.
NOTE: The default picture taking mode is Auto . See page 10 for other picture and video
modes.
Taking a video
1 Press the Mode button repeatedly to highlight
Video mode .
2 Use the camera screen to frame your subject.
3 Press the Shutter button completely down and
release. To stop recording, press and release
the Shutter button again.
4 If you hold the Shutter button down for more
than two seconds, the camera will record until
you release the Shutter button.
5 You can set the camera to automatically stop
recording after a specified period of time (see
page 25 ).
