Highly soiled spots should be
presoaked and the detergent solution
should soak 5 to 10 minutes.
–
Always work from the light to the shade
(from the window to the door).
–
Always work from the cleaned to the un-
cleaned surface.
–
The more sensitive the surface (oriental
rugs, berbers, upholstery material) the
lower the cleaning solution concentra-
tion should be.
–
Rugs with jute backing can shrink if too
much water is used and can bleed col-
ours.
–
Brush high-fiber rugs in the direction of
the weave after cleaning (using a fiber
brush or a scrubber).
–
Do not step on cleaned surfaces until
they have dried and do not place furni-
ture on them to avoid pressure spots or
rust stains.
–
When cleaning previously shampooed
carpets, foam will be generated in the
dirt water reservoir. In such a case add
Foam ex RM 761 to the dirt water reser-
voir.
Î Set the appliance switch to "OFF".
Î Empty the dirt water reservoir.
Î Pull the drain hose for the fresh water
off the hose nipple an drain the deter-
gent solution.
Î Fill the fresh water tank with approx. 4
liters of hot water (max. 60°C) and flush
the spray system by pressing the deter-
gent solution key.
Î Disconnect the main plug from the sock-
et.
Î Pull the drain hose for the fresh water
off the hose nipple an drain the deter-
gent solution.
Î Clean the sieves below the fresh water
tank and inside the dome.
Î Rinse the dirt water tank with clear wa-
ter.
Î Tilt the appliance backwards and clean
the cleaning head and the vacuum bar..
In case of danger of frost:
Î Empty the fresh and dirt water reser-
voirs.
Î Store the appliance in a frost-protected
room.

Pull out the mains plug before doing any
maintenance or cleaning jobs.

Î Check high power cable, extension ca-
bles and hoses for damage every time
before use.
Î Check brush rollers for cleanliness;
clean if required.
Î Check the brushes for wear, replace if
required.
The brushes are considered worn, if the
bristles have the same length as the yel-
low indicator bristles.
Î Check the dome and seals for damag-
es.
Î Check the vacuum bar for contamina-
tion, clean if required
Î Check spray pattern of the nozzle.

Warning
Risk of damage. Never use a wire or a nee-
dle to clear plugged nozzles, but rinse them
with hot water (see "Troubleshooting").
Weekly
Î Check hoses and seals to see if there
are damages. Have defective parts re-
placed by Customer Service.
Î Check the pump pressure of the water
pumps.
Î Check the vacuum bar for damages.
Quarterly
Î Check the carbon brushes in suction
turbine. Have defective parts replaced
by Customer Service.
Î Check the V-belt. Have defective parts
replaced by Customer Service.
Î Check the cable for friction spots. Have
defective parts replaced by Customer
Service.
Î Empty the fresh water tank and waste
water reservoir.
Î Tilt the appliance backwards and store it
on the fresh water reservoir.
Î Rotate the nozzle by 90° counter-clock-
wise and remove them from the nozzle
seat.
Î Install the new nozzle in reverse order.
Î Empty the fresh water tank and waste
water reservoir.
Î Tilt the appliance backwards and store it
on the fresh water reservoir.
Î Push the clip of the brush roller holder
toward the outside.
Î Remove the brush roller from the bot-
tom of the cleaning head.
Î Slide the new brush roller onto the roller
mandrel in the cleaning head and press
it upward into the clip until it audibly
locks into place.
Note
When installing the brush rollers watch for
correct placement. The black brush roller
sits on the inside of the cleaning head, the
white one is located on the outside.

repaired only by authorised customer serv-
ice persons.
Contact an authorised customer service
person in case of problems not mentioned
in this chapter or if you are in doubt or when
you have been explicitly asked to do so.
Î Plug in the main plug.
Î Check facility fuse.
Î Reset the suction turbine fuse on the
control panel.
Î Clean the vacuum bar.
Î Check, clean or replace the seal on the
dome.
Î Empty the dirt water reservoir.
Î Insert the suction hose properly on the
dome.
Î Check the suction hose for damages.
Î Set the appliance switch to normal oper-
ation.
Î Fill the fresh water tank with hot water
(max. 60°C) and rinse the nozzle. Re-
place the nozzle as applicable (see
"Maintenance task/replace nozzle").
Î Fill up fresh water reservoir.
Î Clean the sieve below the fresh water
tank.
Î Set the appliance switch to normal oper-
ation.
Î Reset the brush drive fuse on the con-
trol panel.
Î Check the drive belt, replace if required.
Î Replace the worn nozzle with a new one
(see "Maintenance task/replace noz-
zle").
