INSTRUCTIONS –
Power Steering Box and/or Pump Bleeding Procedure (Box: FR1560, FR1561,
FR1562, FR1563; Pump: FR1570, FR1571, FR1571PL, FR1572)
WARRANTY: ONE (1) YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. REPLACEMENT OF PRODUCT DEEMED
DEFECTIVE BY THE FACTORY. LABOR NOT INCLUDED.
To assure the proper operation of your new Flaming River Power Steering Box and/or Pump,
please follow these instructions to fill the power steering pump and bleed the fluid through the
system.
Rag Joint part number FR1951 may be necessary for proper installation of the Flaming River
Power Steering Box.
M18 and M16 o-ring style AN fittings may be necessary for proper factory power steering line
installation to the Flaming River Steering Box.
Power Steering Pump Reservoir seal kit is available if the original reservoir is desired.
1) Fill the reservoir with high-quality power steering fluid and
allow to sit for 2 minutes
2) Start the engine and recheck fluid level. Add fluid if
necessary.
3) Repeat step 2 if necessary until fluid level stays consistent
after running the engine.
4) Raise the front end of the vehicle so the wheels are just off
the ground.
5) With the engine running, rotate the steering wheel back and
forth from lock-to-lock. Repeat several times. Check fluid level
and add fluid if necessary.
6) Lower the vehicle on the ground and with the engine running,
repeat step 5. Check fluid level and add if necessary.

Always consult your factory manual for proper torque settings for your vehicle.
NOTE:
If the fluid is extremely foamy, let the vehicle sit for a few minutes and repeat steps 1-6.
NOTE:
Trapped air in the system will cause a milky appearance in the fluid. Trapped air will also
cause the fluid level to rise in the reservoir when the engine is not running.
