6. Calendar Events
When a scheduled calendar event occurs containing a valid saved address
(street address, city, state, and zip code), a pop-up notification will appear to alert
you about the event according to the Event Alert time you have set up. You have
the option to
View the event details in your calendar or Close the pop-up.
NOTE:
You do not need to be using Scout to view the pop-up alert. Scout will
only recognize calendar events with an Alert set (15 minutes before, etc). Valid
Scout calendar events will appear in My Places.
For convenience, Scout will take you to the Route Planning screen with your
route mapped out from your current location to the site of the calendar event.
Choose
Drive on this screen for driving directions. You can even share your
Estimated Time of Arrival with chosen contacts. See “Share ETA” on page
for
more information.
The calendar event is also saved to your My Places list as an “Upcoming Event,”
should you close the pop-up or wish to drive to the address at a different time. It
will disappear from your Places list after the time for the event has passed.
NOTE:
To block Scout from accessing your calendar and stop calendar events
from showing, go to the iPhone “Settings” menu, choose Privacy >> Calendars,
and choose “Off” for Scout.
